Deposits & Cancellations

At Tucked Inn Kennels, we’re dedicated to providing an exceptional, personalized experience for you and your furry family members. As a boutique boarding facility with limited capacity, we prioritize advance reservations to deliver the highest level of care to each of our guests. Please note that we do not accommodate walk-ins, and all of our services are thoughtfully designed as part of comprehensive packages to ensure your pup’s stay is as delightful as possible.

For the comfort and safety of our guests, Tucked Inn Kennels is not open to the general public without a prior reservation. To maintain the quality of our services and facilities, we have implemented the following policies for cancellations and reservation changes.

Deposits & Payments

To secure your reservation at Tucked Inn Kennels, we require a non-refundable deposit:

  • Overnight Stays: 

    • A deposit of 50% of the total cost is required at the time of booking.

  • Daycare Visits: 

    • Full payment is required in advance to confirm your spot.

  • Trial Overnight Stays / First Time Visitors: 

    • Full payment is required upfront. Please note, if your dog does not pass the assessment and needs to be returned home, this payment is non-refundable. 

 

Deposits must be received within 24 hours of booking approval. If not received within this timeframe, your reservation will be automatically cancelled. Once your deposit is received, we'll send a confirmation email within 24 hours to finalize your booking.

Cancellations & Changes

Need to cancel? We understand plans change, but please note:

  • Overnight Boarding:

    • Cancellations made 7 or more days before the scheduled arrival date will result in any deposits converted to a credit on your account (Wallet Funds) valid for 6 months on any future booking.

    • Cancellations made 3-6 days before the scheduled arrival date will result in 50% of any deposits, less a $25 cancellation fee, converted to a credit on your account (Wallet Funds) valid for 6 months on any future booking.

    • Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the scheduled arrival date/time will result in the forfeiture of the entire deposit. If the full balance was paid at the time of booking, the entire amount is treated as a deposit and is non-refundable.

  • Daycare Packages:

    • Multi-Visit Packages: You have 90 days from the purchase date to use your credits. No-shows or cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will result in the loss of one credit. Repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in removal from our daycare program, with no refunds for unused credits.

    • Single Daycare Visits: Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance will be credited to your account for future use within three months. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice or no-shows will not be refunded or credited.

 

Please note that sending a cancellation request after hours, on the night before a scheduled visit, is not sufficient. All cancellations must be received 24 hours before your scheduled check-in time.

Behavioural Concerns & Grooming Appointments

  • Behavioural Issues:

    • If a dog needs to be removed from our facility due to behavioural concerns, no refunds or credits will be provided.

    • If future stays are booked for a dog who is removed for behavioural concerns, those deposits will also be forfeited. 

  • Grooming Appointments:

    • Cancellations or changes to grooming appointments made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time will incur the full charge for the service booked.

 

These policies are in place to ensure we can continue providing high-quality care and personalized services to all our clients. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Can any exceptions be made?

At Tucked Inn Kennels, each reservation is taken seriously, as we carefully plan our staffing and resources around the number of expected guests. When you book a stay with us, we are dedicating time, space, and staff to ensure your dog's comfort and well-being.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, but please keep in mind that last-minute cancellations significantly affect our operations and other clients who may be waiting for availability. To maintain a smooth experience for all of our guests, we have implemented these policies to support our boutique service model and ensure we can continue delivering the best possible care.

Deposits

Cancellations

50% deposit, non-refundable. Full payment for trial night stays and first time guests.

 

Deposit is due and payable upon booking and required to secure reservation. Must be received within 24 hours of deposit request, otherwise the booking will be cancelled.

If your deposit is not received, there is a risk that your pet will not be able to board with us. Rebooking after a missed deposit will require payment in full in advance.

Existing clients who wish to pay with cash are not required to provide a deposit, however, this must be arranged in advance.

New Clients/ Trial Stays: Full payment is required upfront. Please note, if your dog does not pass the assessment and needs to be returned home, this payment is non-refundable. 

Daycare

Full balance payable in advance, upon booking. Must be received within 24 hours of payment request, otherwise the booking will be cancelled. No refund upon cancellation.

If your deposit is not received, there is a risk that your pet will not be able to spend the day with us.

Existing clients who wish to pay with cash are not required to provide a deposit, however, this must be arranged in advance.

Boarding

Once a reservation has been confirmed, any cancellation made 7 or more days before the scheduled arrival date will result in any deposits converted to a credit on your account (Wallet Funds) valid for 6 months on any future booking.

Daycare

Once a reservation has been confirmed, any cancellation received more than 24 hours prior to arrival will be processed at no charge and the deposit will be applied to a future booking within three (3) months of the original arrival date.

 

Any cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to arrival will result in forfeiture of the entire deposit or one daycare credit on pre-paid accounts.

 

Multi-Visit Packages: You have 90 days from the purchase date to use your credits. No-shows or cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will result in the loss of one credit. 

 

By providing your deposit / payment, you agree and understand that no refund will be provided in the event of cancellation.

Boarding

Securing Your Reservation

To confirm your dog's stay, we require that deposits be submitted within 24 hours of booking approval. Our spots fill up quickly on a first-come, first-served basis, so please make your deposit promptly to secure your reservation.

  • New Clients:

    • First-time guests who cancel their initial booking, regardless of whether a deposit was made, will be required to pay in full for any subsequent reservations. If a second cancellation occurs, no refunds or credits will be provided, and future booking requests may be declined.

  • Short-Notice Bookings:

    • For reservations made less than 3 days before the check-in date, full payment may be required upfront to confirm your booking.

      • Trial Stays: All trial stays, regardless of length, must be paid in full in advance. This payment acts as a non-refundable deposit.

      • Last-Minute Reservations: For bookings made with less than 24 hours' notice, full payment is required, along with a $29 last-minute booking fee.

 

These policies help us manage our limited space efficiently and ensure every guest receives the best possible care during their stay. Thank you for your cooperation!

The Fine Print

  • New & Existing Clients:

    • First-time guests who cancel their initial reservation, with or without a deposit, will be required to pay in full for their next booking. If a second cancellation occurs, no refunds or credits will be provided, and future boarding or daycare requests may be declined.

    • Existing clients who cancel more than twice within a 12-month period may be removed from our boarding program and may no longer be eligible for future stays.

  • Written Cancellations:

    • All cancellation requests must be made in writing and emailed to contact@tuckedinn.ca. Verbal or text cancellations will not be accepted.​

  • Additional Changes After a Cancellation:​

    • Additional date changes will incur a $50 rebooking fee. 

  • No-Shows:

    • If you do not cancel and fail to show up for your booking, the deposit will not be refunded, and the full cost of the reserved stay will be due before any future bookings.

    • All future stays after a no-show will require full payment in advance, regardless of stay length. Two no-shows will result in permanent removal from our boarding program.

  • Tucked Inn Cancellations:

    • In the rare event that Tucked Inn Kennels needs to cancel your booking, a full refund of any deposits will be issued. However, this does not apply to trial stays where a dog is sent home early or if a dog is removed due to behavioural issues.

  • Behavioural Concerns:

    • No refunds or credits will be issued if your dog needs to be sent home due to behavioural concerns. This includes early removals during trial stays.

  • Reservation Changes:

    • Changes that reduce the number of booked days made with less than 5 days' notice will be subject to a fee of $150 or the cost of the unused booked days, whichever is less.

    • There are no refunds or credits for shortened stays, early returns, or last-minute changes to overnight boarding services.

  • Early Pick Up / Shortened Stays:

    • ​Early pickups not arranged in advance will be charged the full amount of your original booking if notice is given during your dog's stay.

  • Case-by-Case Reviews:

    • All cancellations, no-shows, and related fees are subject to review by Tucked Inn staff and may be addressed on a case-by-case basis, depending on circumstances.

 

Please understand that we schedule bookings carefully to accommodate you and our other clients. Last-minute changes significantly impact our operations, so we appreciate your understanding of our policies.
